日本石川县立图书馆属于搬迁重建项目。整个图书馆像一座知识的殿堂，共四层、以一个整体呈圆形的阅读空间为中心，里面设有各种类型的阅读角。设计反映了当地的传统、工艺和文化的各个方面。照明设计来自面出薰设计事务所（LPA）。

This project by Lighting Planners Associates is part of the relocation and rebuilding of a prefectural library in Ishikawa. Like a hall of knowledge, the library is centrally located in a four-level, circular browsing space, with various types of reading corners throughout the building. The design reflects aspects of local tradition, craftsmanship, and culture.

“Lighting worthy of a hall of knowledge”

以“值得与知识殿堂相遇的光”为设计理念，精细的照明细节与每个空间的用途、每种材料的色调和特性相辅相成，打造出功能与舒适度高度兼容的照明设计。整个建筑的立面设计还为周围的住宅环境创造了迷人的夜景。

Based on the concept “lighting worthy of a hall of knowledge encounter, fine lighting detail complements the usage of each space, and color tones and characteristics of each material, for a lighting design highly compatible in function and comfort. The facade is also designed to create an inviting nightscape for the surrounding residential environment.

这个新型图书馆不仅包括基本的图书借阅和存储功能，最初设计概念是打造一个知识的殿堂，同时空间还可以举办各种各样的活动。

This new type of library includes not only the basic borrowing and storing of books, but the concept originated and was designed as a hall of knowledge, horizontally planning and maintaining a wide variety of intellectual activities throughout this architectural space.

功能性照明旨在满足阅读、学习、讲座和社区活动等常规活动的要求，但同时也需要营造一个舒适的光环境旨在有效地、最大限度地发挥建筑魅力。设计团队经过不懈的权衡和讨论，对照明方式不断进行调整。

Functional lighting was designed to meet requirements of foreseeable activities such as, reading, studying, lectures, and community events, but comfortable ambient light needed to effectively maximize the architectural charm. The design team weighed and discussed unremittingly to adjust the lighting methods.

拱形大厅（GH）是图书馆的标志性区域，书架呈圆弧状分层排列。水平或垂直分布的、令人眼花缭乱的书籍展示无疑是一次令人惊叹的体验和邂逅。除了书柜的基本照明外，照明设计还包括以下功能：

The Great Hall, or GH, is the library`s symbolic, vaulted browsing area, housing bookcases set in layered circular arcs. The sure presence, horizontally and vertically, of a dazzling display of books is an awe-inspiring experience and encounter. Along with the basic illumination of bookcases, the design also includes the following functions.

All of these lighting elements were adjusted within the design. Meticulous collaboration with the architect on various lighting functions including, the elevation of bookcases, sufficient desk surface lux levels, safe detailing for handrail lighting, and eliminating uncomfortable glare from various angles and heights, was necessary to achieve beautiful and functional architectural lighting from any view or practical use.

In addition to layers of brightness created by rows of bookcases, indirect lighting is mounted to envelop the GH ceiling. This creates soft ambient light to wrap the entire volume of space and emphasize a sense of coherence in the design. Uplights mounted along the catwalk around the ceiling structural frame, beautifully illuminate the ceiling in a local and traditional shade of blue and create beautiful contrast with the color of the timber and bengal red.

Under the vaulted ceiling of the GH, there are several spaces with different ceiling heights and some radially-shaped louvers covering the ceilings. Specifying fixtures and adjusting each mounting position in the design was a highly difficult challenge.

具有诱人亮度感的照明

“Lighting with an inviting sense of brightness”

特别是在儿童区，设计有意识地表达出一种具有亲和力的、且令人亲切的明亮环境。在阅读角，灯光嵌入到设计有趣的家具中，同时确保安全性，儿童可以触摸。

Especially in the Children's Zone, the design consciously expresses an inviting and familiar sense of brightness. In the reading corner, lighting is embedded into the playfully-designed furniture, but safely designed to be touched.

垂直照明设计-兼具功能与美学

Flipping pages of book are used in the facade design motif. Warm light glows from the windows creating a different charm during the day and night. The design intent of the interior lighting near the windows creates this emerging streetscape. The exterior lighting is a continuation of the library's ceiling design with canopy louvers effectively illuminated creating a sense of brightness and comfortability along walking paths.
